Internet Helps Christians in the Middle East Emerge
Released on = March 23, 2007, 5:25 am
Press Release Author = Wusul.com
Industry = Internet & Online
Press Release Summary = What: In August 2006, a new initiative was launched in the Middle East to enable Arab and Middle East Christians to form the one and only available database for Arab and Middle East Christians and create a platform that overcomes geographical and denominational boundaries.
Press Release Body = Why: The prevailing myth is that Arab countries are only populated by Muslims. This leaves the Christians of the Middle East feel left out. Their history and heritage are deeply rooted in the Middle East and especially in the Arab world yet they are ignored. Their political realities force them to emigrate thus causing the dwindling of their numbers in the region and they feel little support from "Christian" countries around the world. Wusul challenges all myths that deny Arab Christians their Arab identity and it emphasizes the aspiration of many to stay connected despite all obstacles, including the restrictions on movement and emigration. The portal www.wusul.com is where Christians reach out to each other and voice their existence to the world.
Who: The founders of Wusul.com are Palestinian Christians who found a platform that transcends the limitations on movement and the discriminatory rules which separate them and found a way to rise above geographical boundaries, if only by cyberspace.
The presence of Christians in the Middle East is at stake. Undertakings such as this one are imperative if the Christian stones in the region are to be living ones and not dead in another quarter century
